What is SmartVisio4TFS?
The most widely used modeling and diagramming tool, Visio, simplifies complex information with professional diagrams. SmartVisio4TFS offers integration between Microsoft Visio and Visual Studio TFS to link and analyze Visio diagrams and models with Work Items captured in TFS.
How does SmartVisio4TFS work?
Through seamless integration between Microsoft Visio and Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, SmartVisio4TFS allows linking and analysis of Visio diagrams and models with Work Items captured in a Team Project.
SmartVisio4TFS allows the visual authoring of TFS work items while allowing you to link Visio elements with Work Items.
Visually Author TFS Work Items
Create any Work Item supported by the associated Team Projects template within Visio. Use Visio diagram pages, shapes and connectors to create a hierarchy of TFS Work Items that remain linked to the elements in the Visio file.
Link Visio Elements with Work Items
Link Visio pages, shapes and connectors with any existing Work Item within the associated Team Project.
Create Usage Scenarios and Test Cases
Auto detect usage scenarios within Visio and publish them to TFS along with links to the Work Items covered by the scenarios. The scenarios can then be published to TFS as Work Items along with links to the Work Items linked to shapes and lines involved in the scenario.
Visually monitor Project Status
Instantly transform a Visio diagram into a project dashboard for monitoring progress on TFS Work Items and identifying missing requirements and roadblocks.
Reset Team Project Information
Disconnect the Visio diagram with the connected Team Project and reset TFS binding information of each Visio element. This gives users the opportunity to reconnect the other team projects of any process template.
Bulk Add Work Items
Create linked work items for several Visio elements in a diagram at once. Using bulk action, user may also link multiple Visio elements with existing work items at the same time.
Connect Siloed Workflows
Working with Visio helps organise and share visually our thoughts and plans. However when the information from the diagram needs to be created in TFS as requirements, user stories and tasks, SmartVisio4TFS allows you to create all Work Items directly from Visio.
Maintain Traceability between Visio elements and Work Items
SmartVisio4TFS allows users to link Visio elements, including pages, shapes and connectors from UML models and other diagrams, with work items on TFS, offering better and more granular traceability throughout the project.
Rapid State Visualisation
SmartVisio4TFS provides users and stakeholders with the power to visualise and review the working states of each requirement within Visio using color codes thereby enhancing the TFS capability of work item state identification.
Work Smart Auto Detect Usage Scenario
SmartVisio4TFS automatically identifies Usage Scenarios from swim lane, flowchart, functional flow, activity and BPMN diagrams, allowing Business Analysts and testers to work smart.
Leverage Existing Knowledge
Organisations have a lot of knowledge stored in Visio diagrams and new diagrams are created every day by business analysts, process engineers and architects. Connect these diagrams to TFS and build on the knowledge you already have.
