New Feature
- Multi-Select Support for Work Items from Backlog and Queries
We’re excited to announce that Copilot now supports the multi-select feature from Modern Requirements, allowing users to select multiple work items from either the Backlog or Queries and invoke Copilot, which will receive and process the full context of all the selected work items
for a more streamlined and efficient workflow.
Admin Panel
New Feature
- Approver Role Requirement Setting Added to Admin Panel
A new Admin Panel setting, “Make role assignment mandatory for approvers during review
creation”, lets admins enforce role assignment before review requests are sent. The checkbox
is unchecked by default, preserving current behavior while ensuring role clarity when enabled.

Smart Docs
Change Request
- Test API Report Integration in Smart Docs
Smart Docs now supports seamless integration with the Test API, allowing users to link Test Plans, Test Suites, and Test Cases directly to requirements or sections type work items. Generate comprehensive reports that reflect full test coverage and hierarchy with reduced
manual effort. This enhancement improves traceability, visibility, and testing efficiency.

Review Management
New Feature
- Support to make Role Assignment for Review Approvers Mandatory
A new Admin Panel option enforces mandatory role assignment for all review approvers. Review initiators must assign roles before sending requests, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and consistent review setup.

Tool Enhancements
- Comments and Links count in the Feedback section
The Feedback section now shows counts of comments and links beside each label. These counts also appear in Audit Reports, giving users a quick view of feedback activity in reviews. - Support for Multi-Work Item Selection and Bulk Actions in Review Grid
Review stakeholders can now act on multiple work items at once with bulk Approve/Reject and shared comments. Item-specific actions are disabled in multi-select mode, while view options remain available via the right panel, improving efficiency with full backward compatibility. - Distinction Added for System-Generated Comments
System-generated comments in reviews now include the prefix [Modern Requirements4DevOps generated comment]. This makes it easier to differentiate between system and user comments, improving transparency and traceability. - Highlighted Inactive/Deleted Users in Review Stakeholders Selection
Inactive or deleted users are now highlighted with a red border when added as reviewers or approvers. This helps review initiators quickly identify unavailable accounts and avoid assigning
reviews to them.

Tool Enhancements
- Test Result Count Fields in Test Suite Support
Test Suites now support detailed count fields in the MR Test API, including Total Tests, Passed, Failed, Blocked, Not Applicable, and Active. These fields are now available in Smart Report, providing clearer visibility into test execution status and improving test coverage analysis. - Shared Steps Support in Test API
Smart Report now support detailed representation of Shared Steps within test cases. Users can view Shared Steps and their nested step details, including hierarchical Step IDs, parameters (with multiple values shown comma-separated), outcomes, completion dates, and iteration info. Shared Step names are shown in bold, and outputs are supported in Form, Table and Form as Table section types. - Usability and Display Improvements
Support multiple enhancements to improve user experience and output formatting in Smart Report:- Added the ability to insert a field clause above a selected row in the Smart Report Designer using the “+” icon. For grouped fields and connected fields as table:
- If the field clause is added from the top row, it will not be part of that grouped field or table.
- If the field clause is added from any other row, it will be included in the grouped field or table.
- Updated the Linked Work Item Type pop-up to display selected work item types in the order they are added, instead of alphabetical order.
- Enabled unique captions to display for each grouped table, ensuring that all tables show their respective captions rather than repeating the last one.

Users can now generate a traceability matrix by using Smart Docs under the Horizontal Matrix → Query Type option. Users can select any Smart Doc from any folder and generate the matrix according to the work item configuration.
The overall functionality: such as top-level items, linked work item(s), and fields configuration remains the same as it does for normal trace files. Similarly, users can generate a Smart Report and export the generated trace data to Excel. - Shared Steps Visibility in Trace Analysis
Trace Analysis now fully supports Shared Steps within test cases. Users can view the Shared Steps and their nested step details, including hierarchical Step IDs, outcomes, completion dates, Iterations and parameters (with multiple values shown comma-separated). This enhancement ensures greater visibility into test execution and improves traceability from requirements to individual test steps - Improved Performance When Viewing Test Case Results
Changed the control to Kendo for retrieving test case result work items, improving performance and responsiveness.
